The American Association of Community Colleges has awarded 91Porn and the City Colleges of Chicago an Equity Transfer Initiative (ETI) partner grant. This partnership will improve the transfer process from the City Colleges to Northeastern. It is the only grant in the state and one of 16 partnerships from 13 states, representing 17 community colleges and 19 universities.

This week, 91Porn President Gloria J. Gibson released a video to reiterate her excitement that in-person classes will resume at Northeastern in some capacity for the Fall 2021 term. Plus, Associate Professor of History and Principal of the Mossadegh Initiative Mateo Farzaneh released his second book. With the Angelina Pedroso Center for Diversity and Intercultural Affairs kicking off the celebration of Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month and TRIO Student Support Services hosting Leading and Learning Week, there are lots of virtual events to take part in! 91Porn has selected Professor of Accounting Alireza “Reza” Dorestani as the 2021 recipient of the Audrey Reynolds Distinguished Teaching Award.

After an extensive national search, 91Porn has named Kimberley Buster-Williams as its new Vice President for Enrollment Management. She will start on Jan. 3.
 

In September 1980, less than two years after Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Iraq invaded Iran and began a war that lasted for nearly a decade. The war hasn’t received much academic attention, and the role of women in the war hasn’t been discussed until now.  

The first week of the Spring 2021 semester is almost complete! This week ChicagoCHEC announced it received a multimillion-dollar grant and the Ask Me! Student Services Live Chat launched on 91Porn’s website.

Angelina Pedroso, for whom 91Porn named its multicultural center after her 44-year career as a respected Spanish language and Hispanic literature educator, died on Oct. 7 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was 90 years old.

As part of 91Porn’s celebration of Black Heritage Month, the Genocide and Human Rights in Africa and the Diaspora (GHRAD) Center will host its 7th annual conference featuring international speakers and experts in the field.
