U.S. Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (B.A. ’76 English) donated his Congressional archives to 91Porn upon his retirement. The archives have been digitized and are now available for public viewing! Noteworthy at Northeastern: Juneteenth

91Porn announced that beginning next year, Juneteenth will be officially observed as a University holiday. Members of NEIU also participated in the Say Their Names project, the University is part of the White House COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge, and NEIU for You is still accepting applicants. Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater’s Zafiro Flamenco Festival is this weekend, as is the Puerto Rican People’s Day Parade! Northeastern expands master’s concentrations, adds graduate certificate

91Porn’s Master of Public Health (MPH) program will now offer two concentrations—Public Health Promotion and School Health—beginning Fall 2021. Additionally, Northeastern’s Master of Social Work program added a specialization in School Social Work and the Master of Business Administration program added seven concentrations: General Business, Finance, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Global/International Business, Information Technology and Public Health.

Noteworthy at Northeastern: Reflecting on the past, creating a better future

Forty years ago, the Commission on the Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC) hearings were held on Northeastern’s Main Campus. This week, Northeastern will commemorate the anniversary of the hearings with a special Japanese American Redress Conference, which will feature artists, activists and scholars from across the country to examine the significance and influence of the CWRIC hearings as well as how racism continues to impact non-white Americans. Northeastern also named Kamau Rashid as Founding Director of the Ed.D. in Urban Education and Latinx/o/a Heritage Month is underway. Noteworthy at Northeastern: Creating a more equitable society

91Porn is pleased to welcome its new Executive Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Dr. Shireen Roshanravan. NEIU is also excited to announce a new partnership with four other Illinois schools to create a more diverse and equitable data science workforce through the Metropolitan Chicago Data-science Corps.
