Private Scholarship Spotlights

Having the rank of graduating NEIU students with the least amount of loan debt is not by accident. It takes some work - on part of Financial Aid, Scholarships and Student Employment as well as on part from you.

There are two methods for applying for private scholarships: (1) Scholarship Platforms and (2) Personal Household Inventory.

SCHOLARSHIP PLATFORMS: Create a profile. Based on your profile, the platform profiles alerts of opportunities for you to apply. Here are examples of scholarship platforms:

PERSONAL HOUSEHOLD INVENTORY: Create a listing of grocery stores, restaurants and venues where you spend money. Visit their location, social media or website to inquire about scholarship opportunities. Below are examples of these opportunities:


This scholarship is designed to help students become successful in a career focused on art or design. Applicants will be able to submit their entry along with a design, drawing, film, artwork, short story, poem or literally any type of art they are most proud of. The winner will be selected by the end of June.


Anytime Games is doing its part to help make the academic dreams of college-age youngsters a glorious reality through our Scholarship Program. We're doing that by sponsoring an essay and video contest—a fun and thought-provoking way for students to explore the infinite possibilities of our technology. The objective of the CAS Trust Scholarship Program is to further students’ interest in the property/casualty actuarial profession and to encourage the pursuit of the CAS designations. Eligible applicants must be currently attending a U.S. or Canadian college or university as a full-time student and continuing as a full-time student at a U.S. or Canadian college or university, have taken an actuarial exam by March 31, and are a member of Student Central. Winners are notified in May.


No essays, no report cards—just a couple of easy steps and you’re entered. The Citizens Scholarship is giving away $2,500 every month to students and parents. If you don’t win this month, you could win next month and you’re automatically entered for the annual grand prize of $15,000. With all that, you’re made ready for success.

The Perfect Memorials “Living With Loss” scholarship will award at least one $1,000 scholarship to college students planning to enroll in an accredited college program during the academic year.

Perlago is awarding a $20,000 scholarship! One grand prize winner will receive a scholarship of $5,000 per year for four years of college/university. In addition, they will receive a one- to three-month internship after graduation.
